Grotheer & Company provides services in the mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines. We are dedicated to providing our clients with the highest level of service to ensure the success of their projects. We assist in all phases of the design process and have experience with statement of work development, preparation of contract documents (drawings, specification, calculations), engineering studies, developing project schedules, generating cost estimates and construction administration services. Being a small company, each member of our staff is extremely versatile and possesses a wide range of skills.
All of the principals of Grotheer & Company are licensed professional engineers in one or more U.S. states in their respective disciplines. Principals review all deliverables before submission to the client as a quality control measure. All engineering staff are encouraged to pursue continuing education and attend technical enrichment seminars.
Our experience is enhanced by the wide range of local and overseas facilities we have worked on over the years. Examples include office buildings, shopping malls, trash transfer stations, schools, hotels, warehouses, modular facilities, libraries, prisons and historic facilities. We have over 30 years of experience working with the Department of State Overseas Building Operations (OBO) in support of U.S. Embassy and Consulate design. These facilities pose interesting design challenges based on the secure nature of their design and the State Department’s unique engineering design requirements.
Grotheer & Company is a team player and has worked in various capacities on design projects. We have acted as the prime design consultant and as a sub-consultant to an architecture or engineering firm. We have experience in both design/build and design/bid/build projects. In design/build scenarios, we work closely with the construction contractor to develop the design to meet the client’s needs. Design/bid/build projects require a good relationship with the client to ensure the construction documents properly convey the design intent. However the project is structured, Grotheer & Company works hard to contribute to the synergy of the team, and ultimately, to the success of the project.
